Biography

An artist with a mission.

Carrying Nigerian music across every border — Lagos roots, Birmingham soul, global sound.

Bammixx is a Nigerian-born DJ, music producer and songwriter based in Birmingham, United Kingdom. Specialising in Afrobeats and Amapiano, he has spent years building an international career that spans the UK, Nigeria, Europe and Canada.

His deep cultural roots — including his pioneering use of the ancient Yoruba Gangan talking drum in contemporary Afrobeats production — combined with a professional live sound engineering background and formal training at London Sound Academy give him a unique artistic identity that sets him apart from his peers.

Whether headlining internationally recognised events like Zero Gravity Lagos and London alongside DJ Consequence, releasing original productions on Apple Music and Spotify, or writing cultural commentary for major Nigerian newspapers — Bammixx delivers full authenticity wherever he lands.

As a live sound engineer, he understands a room from both sides of the desk: the programming that moves a dancefloor and the technical craft that makes it land clean in any venue, from intimate wedding halls to festival main stages.

From Lagos to Birmingham, across Europe and Canada, Bammixx carries Nigerian music across every border — an artist with a mission and the credentials to match.

The Gangan

The ancient Yoruba talking drum, inside modern Afrobeats.

The Gangan is the Yoruba talking drum — an instrument that bends pitch to imitate speech and has carried messages across Yorubaland for centuries. Bammixx pioneers its use inside contemporary Afrobeats and Amapiano production, weaving live Gangan patterns through his original records and sets.

It is a signature element of every Bammixx production — the cultural thread that ties a Birmingham dancefloor back to Lagos.
